The art work from Jackson Pollock using alkyd enamels (a synthetic type of paint) as the medium was a kind of action painting. After World War II and the invention of photograph, a realistic picture became unnecessary. Jackson Pollock believed that the action painting through alkyd enamels could reflect the emotion and expression of feelings of him at that moment of time.
