Yayoi Kusama’s ‘The obliteration room'

Yayoi Kusama’s ‘The obliteration room'

Yayoi Kusama, The obliteration room, 2011

The art work from KuYayoi sama was a piece of applicatiion art work. The artist used a plain room as a special medium prompted the audience to obliterate the room by  brightly coloured stickers in the shape of dots.

While most of the environment we usually connect in daily were already immersed by colors and shapes, the artist believed this would limit the development of human beings to identify themselves which influenced form the concept of situationism. The plain room create a space and situation for audience to exert the imagination.
Moreover, rather than creating an art work for people to observe the angle from the artist, it  allows audience to participle in the art work.
